From 2001 to 2003, he was with the Optical Network Division (OND) at Alcatel-Lucent as project manager and senior consultant, and then a senior research scientist at the Research & Innovation (R&I) Center from 2003 to 2007. In 2007, he left Alcatel-Lucent and joined Imperial College London as a post-doc researcher working on wireless. Since March 2011, he has joined Tongji University as a full professor at the School of Electronics and Information. working on wireless and the Internet of Things (IoT). Prof. Liu has experience on both academia and industry, from wired, optical, to wireless networks. Currently, his research interests include: Stochastic Geometry, Network Utility Maximization (NUM), Scheduling, Opportunistic Resource Allocation, QoS, Cognitive Networking, Cooperative Routing, Cross-Layer Optimization in wireless networks, Complex Networks, and the Internet of Things, etc. During his 6-year stay at Alcatel-Lucent, Prof. Liu received various awards and honors, including the Exceptional Contributions Award from the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy (ALTA) in 2006. He has published 50+ papers, 30+ patents, and 9 standardization contributions. Currently, he is an ACM Senior Member, an IEEE Senior Member, and a Sigma Xi full Member. His hobbies include: Music/Movie, HTPC, Programming free softwares such as TTNews (天天新闻), and Tetris game:) |
